About Us

I was born and raised in Lubbock and still call it home. Through the years, I have developed a strong passion for animals and decided to make this passion into a career. In 2018, following the sudden passing of my first dog and beloved friend, my Rottweiler Tito, I re-evaluated my priorities and left my full time social work job to pursue dog training more in depth.

I have 9 years of experience in handling dogs of all shapes, sizes, breeds, and dispositions in shelter, community, and home settings with a specific interest in behavior. I operate a local rescue with a group of friends and am heavily involved at the Lubbock Animal Shelter. I have a master’s degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington and years of social work practice experience which has laid the foundation for knowledge and application of animal behavior before I even knew I would shift my career to working directly in training and behavior modification. I obtained a certificate in Applied Animal Behavior from the University of Washington in 2019 and shadowed under and worked for Justin Cloud at Modern Dog Training for over a year. I continue to further my education and expand my knowledge and skill base on a consistent basis.

I believe successful training is a constant learning process, an ability to tailor approaches to meet the needs of each individual dog, recognition of dogs as multi-dimensional and unique, consistency, hard work, clear communication and connection. My approach focuses on bridging the gap between humans and dogs while repairing and strengthening our relationships with them. I share my life and home with several rescue pups and, in my spare time, enjoy traveling, reading, snow skiing, and volunteering and still putting my social work education and experience to work.
